We're at the Columbus Metropolitan Library. The children's section is great! Fiona is having a blast. We were able to obtain a guest pass to use the wireless for internet access. Now we just need to find a place to stay overnight before landing in Philadelphia on Saturday. It ends up that so far none of our [...] We finished our house sitting gig in Minnesota and are now back in Rice Lake for a couple of days. Fiona has some assessment testing at school today. Wednesday morning we leave for an overnight stay with Joshua in Chicago. Thursday we'll drive to Cincinnati and stay with the author of Around the World in Easy [...] A year ago today we left Roseville California to head to Montreal. It's been quite a year. We've driven through a lot of states and stayed with lots of interesting people. What have we learned? For one thing, I don't want to live in a big city ever again. I don't want to move back to California. [...] Last August we held an event for virtual assistants in Vancouver British Columbia while house sitting in the area. Kathy had found our event online and registered. We’ve kept in touch over the past year by email and calls. Today we received this email from Kathy: Hi Sue & Joel, Just wanted to let you know how appreciative I [...] Saturday we had a chance to visit Como Park Zoo & Conservatory in Saint Paul Minnesota. They are open 365 days a year till 4 pm and until 6 pm April through September. The admission is free with a suggested donation of $2 per adult and $1 per child to help with costs. "You are always [...] Last night our new friend Adam had us come over so Joel could teach him and some of his friends how we make our home made pizza - from dough made from scratch to the sauce made from scratch. What a lot of fun we all had. Adam learns to make crust Adam and his roommates thought [...] We've been house sitting in Saint Paul for about 10 days and have about 10 days to go. Our host is on vacation in Europe and has two boxers and three cats that needed to be cared for. It's actually not that hard. The boxers are very friendly and most obedient. It was a challenge one [...] Joel and I are not coffee drinkers usually. We do have a morning cup of tea - every morning. It's our daily morning routine. It was reinforced in 2005 when we went to Ireland and had Irish breakfast tea every morning. Actually throughout the day. Since we've come to Minnesota I'm finding I want tea throughout [...] We're currently staying in St. Paul Minnesota in a nearly 100-year old home. Right outside the window are morning glories. I've loved morning glories since I was a kid and always hoped to have some of my own. Now I do for a few weeks while house sitting. Diagonally right across the way is a playground. [...] |
