Today is “Big Change Day”. James and Rachelle, my two grown children who have been living with us, sign the lease on their apartment today and move out on their own. It will be the first time they’ve lived away from home. I’m very proud of both of them. This is a very big change for them. They both have taken on a lot of responsibility to make this happen and I can’t wait to see how they continue to blossom and mature.
We’re having a big yard sale today and tomorrow. We’re selling it all and going on the road. Living room set; couch, chair, coffee table, 2 end tables, dining table and 3 chairs, another coffee table, Maple side table, sturdy side table with 3 drawers, lamps, CD/DVD storage tower, 2 large office desks, 2 swivel office chairs, TV, VCR, DVD player, magazine rack/side table combo, glasses, vases, framed pictures, Igloo ice chest/cooler, children’s Disney videos (we kept the ones Fiona wants to store for now), sturdy wood folding table, kitchen items, miscellaneous knick knacks, children’s wooden blocks (again keeping and either storing or taking with us many of Fiona’s toys), and more. James and Rachelle are taking the kitchen table and chairs, our bed, another chair, other kitchen stuff and things to help them set up house.
There won’t be much left after this weekend. Wednesday we start house sitting for Eric and Heather. We’ll come back to finish cleaning and shampoo the carpet here. Then on September 30, we drive away toward Phoenix.
Stay tuned for further adventures!
Selling the stuff really puts the terminal (but really, opening) punctuation mark on your venture, doesn’t it? Wow. You guys are really doing it. Sounds like you’ve shampooed your mind carpets too. Tally ho!
Yep. It’s real. The carpets get shampooed next week. Oh, our minds. Hmmm…..
In order to shampoo my mind I’ll have to locate it, having lost it utterly a few weeks back.
